Temple Square trip

This is Dillon reading the Mormon plaque telling us, "He sits at his desk. He says he has to read lots and lots of books. Yep, that was it says!"

Dillon was a little hesitant to go pose for the picture because of the grand surroundings so after it was taken he came running back to me saying, "He didn't scare me!" I'm glad to see that our teachings of Jesus have hit home.

Gingerbread Houses

This was our pre-holiday activity. The little boys made "gingerbread boys" and the big boys made houses. By the time we were finished the gingerbread boys were buried under frosting mounds and half eaten candies.

BOX FUN

Dillon was clowning around and wanted to see if he could fit into this box. Sure enought the little stinker did so Steve closed it up and was off to mail him to Santa.

Christmas in the SNOW!!

I'm trying to learn some of Christy's new finds on blogging, but I am not successful yet. So please be patient with the upcoming posts from me. They might be a little kooky!

This is our time at the cabin in Island Park. We were buried in snow and had to wait for the plows to come get us out. It was lots of fun! Steve tried to snowmobile, but it was so fluffy and deep that it just looked like him floating chest high in snow. You couln't even see the sled.

Mexico

Steve and I went on our first Mexico trip to Cabo San Lucas with some of our good friends from Steve's work. It was so much fun! We spent 8 days at this resort that is almost too good to be true. We were right on the beach to the Sea of Cortez. The water was so warm and really beautiful. Steve got to do zip lining, underwater sub scootering, snorkeling, body surfing and a dinner cruise. I only got to do the snorkeling and the dinner cruise because I am expecting. It was still an unforgettable trip. Our kids were very homesick for us which didn't make it any easier to leave them for that long. In fact I felt like kid on Christmas morning coming home. I couldn't wait to squeeze my babies. It was a little colder here in Idaho, but good to be home. We loved going to such a beautiful, different place. It definitely helped going with our friends who have been to Mexico before. Steve and I would have gotten lost or taken for a "good deal" if we weren't with them. It is good to have friends you want to share these experiences with.

Halloween

We went to a little Halloween party and the boys really got into their costumes! From left to right we have Optimus Prime, US Soldier, and a pirate. Let's just say the tub was a fright after this night! Tonight we go to the ward Halloween Carnival and tomorrow the traditional trick or treating. It will be a busy next couple of days, but the kids love it. Happy Halloween to all of you!!

Ratatouille Soup

We canned 35 quarts of applesauce on Friday last week. Dillon was a great helper calling it Ratatouille Soup and enjoying his afternoon diet of chocolate and pringles. What could be better? My mom was right that there is no greater feeling than looking at the finished product and knowing that all that hard work could look so pretty.

Elk, Wolves, and BEARS OH MY!

Saturday we took the boys to a nearby park that has all these wild animals that you can see up close and personal! It was so fun to see the bears right outside the car. The bear cubs reminded me too much of my own three little cubs. They rolled on each other, bit one another, and paced back and forth until their lunch was served.

HELP! Opinions wanted!

I have been doing a lot of reading on the health benefits of green and white tea. I have been unable to find anything specific from the church on this topic. Can you help me? This is a curiosity that I would really like to know. I obviously will honor the word of wisdom...but the information is convincing health wise. Thanks to all who help me.

Back to School!

These were our pictures from this morning. (Of couse Dillon has to be going to 2nd grade too.) The boys were a lot more confident going today. There was a familiarity that brought comfort I think. Their teacher looped with them from 1st grade which helps. I tried to be an encouraging mom as my babies went off to school. I hate/love that they are getting older. I keep telling them they will always be my babies--Dillon says "I NOT A BABY, I A KID! Overall, it was a successful day. Only 170 some odd days left...

Explanation

I obviously don't know how to comment on pictures correctly. We went to Tony Grove in Logan Canyon last week and camped with Steve's parents and sister. It was a lot of fun hiking around the little lake and hanging out with cousins. The boys even had their first experience in a canoe. Luckily, no one capsized the boat! On the second day, just our little family went to enjoy the blue waters of Bear Lake. We took the boat and had a great time wake-surfing, wake-boarding, and just swimming around. We even turned the music on and had a picnic. One of the pictures is the boys on the back of the boat dancing. You can see they have rhythm... :-)
We had a memorable time and loved being together as a family. School is about to start and the schedule will be up and running so this was our last Hoorah!!

Bear Lake

Boating on Bear Lake.

Raspberry shakes!! Yum!
Skipping rocks...a family tradition

Notice Dillon's feet in the air. Not experts on canoeing.
